Although I am twenty-seven now, I remember that I got my first body piercing when I was fourteen. Now, as you probably guessed, this was not a professional body piercing. Knowing what I know now about body piercings, I would have never done this, but since I was fourteen and wanted a body piercing more than anything in the world, I agreed to let my best friend’s older sister pierce my belly button. Luckily, although it hurt pretty bad, my best friend’s sister took some basic steps to sanitize the needle she used, so I didn’t end up getting an infection.
A few years later, I got my second body piercing, but because I was of legal age (and smarter than I was when I was fourteen), I went to a professional piercer. The second piercing I got was through my eyebrow, and just like my belly button piercing, I still have it to this day.
Because I have had these piercings for quite some time, I have quite a few different pieces of body jewelry. Regardless of whether it’s a wholesale piece of body jewelry, or a more upscale piece, I like all of the body jewelry that I own and regularly rotate through my entire collection.
